It is that time again. Our mail boxes, both physical and electronic, are filled with unsolicited messages. Our phones ring multiple times daily with the call descriptions of either “Spam” or “Political.” As frustrating and infuriating as the situation can be, it is truly inescapable unless we go completely off the grid in every sense of the word. But most of us cannot do that, so we stand and toss pamphlets and flyers by the handful away, knowing that the money to produce those could be much better spent on more worthwhile causes. How do we cope with the anger and numbing sense of futility?
We look to Him. We look to a higher purpose. We seek the one who understands us and believes in us when we do not believe in ourselves. We reach out for His strength and guidance. We pray to Him to show us how to be better, more courageous, and more loving. He is there, reaching out so our frustration and anger will be replaced with patience and kindness. We only have to turn away from the noise and distraction and take the hand He is offering us.
“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13.
